Near-Earth asteroids (2100) Ra-Shalom, 2000 LC16 and 2000 NM

The frames below show the position and the appearent motion of these minor planets. If you roll the cursor over an image, it will be animated. North is up, east to the left. Field of view is approximately 25x16 arcminutes and we have used a Starlight XPress camera attached on our 20-cm (8-inch) reflector.

(2100) Ra-Shalom -- Aten-type

Images were taken on July 31, 2000 at 21:56 and 22:05 UT with 60-s exposures. Ra-Shalom was moving across the central part of Andromeda (And), 5 degrees south from the Andromeda galaxy (Messier 31).

0h 51m (R.A.) and +36° 01' (Decl.)
This minor planet was 16.1 mag bright at a distance of 0.311 AU from the Earth.

[ Orbit of Ra-Shalom ]

2000 LC16 -- Amor-type

Images were taken on August 1, 2000 at 0:18, 0:28 and 0:38 UT with 60-s exposures. 2000 LC16 was moving across the central part of Aquarius (Aqr), 1 degree NE from the 43 Aqr (4.3 mag). The brightest star in these pictures is 9.3 mag.

This minor planet was 15.6 mag bright at a distance of 0.247 AU from the Earth.

2000 NM -- Apollo-type

Images were taken on July 31, 2000 from 23:37 to 23:52 UT with 60-s exposures. 2000 NM was moving across the central part of Ursa Minor (UMi). The brightest star in these pictures is 7.5 mag.

15h 20m (R.A.) and +76° 44' (Decl.),
This minor planet was 15.7 mag bright at a distance of 0.232 AU from the Earth.
